The Library served as the administrative center and classroom for the entrepreneurship program Vive el Sueño offered by an international foundation. This educational empowerment initiative provides Nosareños skills for opening and sustaining small businesses. Hundreds of individuals have received the training and many have opened their own businesses.
Once a month, students from the University of Costa Rica in San José come to the Library to complete their community service requirements. The students work with children, adolescents and senior citizens on a range of skills and organize activities including but not limited to tutoring, talks, crafts, musical instrument sessions, and exercise groups.
Every summer vacation since 2005, students from the Elkhart, Indiana Youth Rotary Outreach Program have spent a week during their summer vacations visiting Nosara and working to maintain the Library building. Over 245 volunteers have served the Library through this partnership.
Libros para todos is an initiative by the largest newspaper in the country which publishes textbooks on newsprint, making the books financially accessible to the general public. The library participates in this program by buying the books and providing them to the schools at half cost. With this program, students only pay 8% of the normal textbook price.
The library works hand-in-hand with Centro Técnico Nosara in the implementation of virtual courses. In addition, some classes take place in the library.
The Library frequently organizes field trips to the Library for groups of students to listen to special speakers, check out books and read stories. The Library has partnered with local schools including Del Mar Academy, Escuela Santa Teresita, Escuela Serapio Lopez Fajardo, Liceo Bocas de Nosara, and Escuela Santa Marta.
